I work in theoretical nuclear physics, especially on nuclear structure, heavy-ion reaction, fusion, fission and cluster radioactivity, cold nuclear phenomenon. My research interests also include quantum groups and algebra.

- National Society of Sciences Crafts & Creative Arts (NSCA) National Science Day Award, Feb. 1996, for predicting cold fusion process for synthesizing new (super-heavy) elements in the laboratory. This work was then nominated for the 1997 Noble Prize in Physics
